Franean War

START

Korea was under the rule of Japan, until Kim Il-Snail, a communist snail, revolted against the Japanease rule and had declared war on the Vatican, announcing all Catholics were enemies of the state.

WAR

South Korea launched several minor attempts into Snailrea, which were vast failures. Snailrea had begun rapidly approaching and nearly annexed North Korea, until finally, the Holy Roman Empire had fully declared war and the Kaiser Francis arrived. Francis would fight tooth and nail, eventually routing the Snails and pushing them to China. The war was short, and after recognizing Francis's great and swift victories, Pope Pius XII made Francis a Cardinal. Snailrea however was able to resist for years, and regained control of the country after HRE troops were pulled out to fight in VietFlabe.

TODAY

Francis had never had the interest to regain Snailrea, and eventually just left them alone. Cory Strudel would eventually take control of some land and split the country in half. It is now under Jucheist Snail Jim Woah, with Cory Strudel leading the Jucheist but radically anti-snail North. It is very well accepted that if the Snails hadn't revolted and the HRE did not engage on behalf of Pope Pius XII, its likely Francis would have never become the Pope.
