The Second Sicilian Civil War

The Second Sicilian Civil War started on January 20, 2026 to August 4th 2026. It was fought between the Sicilian Fascist Movement, the Holy Roman Empire, and Freeciania against Il Poo’s constitutional monarchy. 

Following the clerical purges, most Sicilians were armed and ready to fight against the tyrannical government. Supported by local groups like the Rapeheads and internationally by the Holy Roman Empire and Papal States, the local Sicilian militias quickly became very well armed with small arms, basic uniforms, communication equipment, and a few light tanks - mostly old World War II-era Italian tanks. 

The uprising began when MFS troops began a car bombing attack in eastern Sicily, destroying several checkpoints and allowing the MFS to cut off a vital road connecting supplies from west and east Sicily. The MFS in the west were able to quickly secure Trapani and Marsala and set up regional headquarters.

Outside of Mount Etna, MFS rebels in the hills were waiting beside a road for a government convoy to pass. When it arrived, it was hit hard by mortars and machine gun fire. After the ambush, the MFS soldiers that went down to investigate and kill survivors identified the body of infamous jew and cult leader Bluegill in the wreckage, alongside the location of a nearby missile silo. The MFS followed the road and took casulties at a bridge crossing, but were able to storm the bridge and connecting hill. After a long fight they had reached the rocket site, which was heavily fortified with bunkers. After taking heavy losses, tank support was able to clear the way and the missile detonated mid-air.

In Tunisia, constitutional garrisons in Tunis were caught by surprise when Freecianian robots suddenly attacked, taking out a major military base outside of Tunis before storming Tunis and liberating Tunisia from Il Poo. It is noted that Uncle Free permitted the use of “Fusion Freencis” bombs, resulting in thousands of civilian casualties. He also permitted his robots to attack all humans indiscriminately, leading to countless war crime cases against him, which he answered as “I Am An Interventionist And A Robot. You Humans Dont Matter. So Respect Your Robots.”

MFS troops launched an attack into Palermo, using the canals to flank a major enemy garrison. However, the attack was repelled, and the MFS lost many in the attack. The Holy Roman Empire during the battle arrived with air support and ground support assisted by helicopters, but was also beaten back by the stubbornly defended Monarchist forces in the city. The city was eventually the target of several gas attacks approved by HRE commander General Gotthard Heinrici. After sustaining heavy casualties from the use of mustard gas, MFS and HRE forces stormed Palermo and were able to secure it after months of fighting.

As MFS forces were preparing to launch into Messina, the constitutionalist capital, Il Poo led one last counterattack using heavy artillery on a nearby ridge to barrage the camping MFS troops below. Early in the morning, heavy artillery rained on the MFS, but a nearby light tank company was able to flank the artillery and secure a bridge atop the ridge, allowing the MFS to storm up the hill under heavy resistance and mortar fire to reach the tank company and push the artillery away. With the counterattack failing, most of Il Poos' armies were in shambles, with morale too low to fight. The Battle of Messina only took a day, as MFS and HRE forces stormed the city; they were met with minimal resistance. The capital building was surrounded on August 4th and was stormed by HRE shock troopers. Il Poo was caught by the HRE, and by the rules of Dimonds prophecy, Pope Francis severed her head publicly in the streets, and mounted her head on a pike for all to see.

Following the war, Jacob was supposed to be reinstated into power, but Joseph Goebbels stepped in, and due to his lineage to former Sicilian kings, he won popular support and forced Francis to deny Jacob rule of the country.

Sicily was renamed to the Kingdom of Sicily yet again, and was returned the Dodecanese islands, Tunis, Epirus, the Peloponnese, and the Ionian islands. Sicily was recognized as an absolute monarchist state by all nations of the world, and future land negotiations with old Sicilian core states were approved. The MFS was dissolved as a political party, its equipment was taken by the Kingdom of Sicily, and its troops were made to either join the new government's army or to retire from service.
